Historically, national and international corporations with a need for architectural and interior design services in different cities had two options: Hire different small firms in each market and oversee multiple individual projects, or go with one large firm with the resources but limited local insight, talent and accountability. Today, 17 independent corporate architectural and interiors firms in the United States, Canada, and Mexico seek to change that approach.
The executive team of ONE Global Design, on behalf of its member firms, today announced a new concept for corporate clients who retain architectural and interiors services. Conceptualized by Norm Liedtke, CEO of Meyer, an architecture and interior design firm in Philadelphia, and Ron Carlson, principal with Partners by Design in Chicago, ONE Global Design offers a new solution for corporations with multiple projects across the United States, Canada and Mexico – the unique opportunity to tap into the knowledge, experience, and local expertise of 17 firms each considered best-in-class in their respective markets.
“We recognized a need in the marketplace that was not being filled,” Liedtke said. “Our corporate clients were growing geographically, but they were not being served by the large multi-national, multi-office firms who lacked personal accountability and first-hand client knowledge.”
Together, Meyer, Partners by Design, and the ONE Global Design executive team created the foundation for the network, recruiting independent firms that met their highly selective criteria. In addition to Philadelphia’s Meyer, the ONE Global Design executive committee consists of Hendrick, Inc. of Atlanta; Wolcott Architecture | Interiors of Los Angeles; and FME Architecture + Design of San Francisco.
“We’ve had extraordinary success on more than 40 projects, solidified our operating platform, and developed an unprecedented trust among our member firms and their respective clients,” Liedtke said.
The ONE Global Design network approach allows corporations to work with an architecture firm that’s familiar with their brand, vision, and company culture in partnership with a firm that understands the nuances of the community where their project is located.
ONE Global Design members’ clients include Coca Cola, Samsung, Wells Fargo, Audi, and Google, among others.

With more than 500 architecture and interiors professionals among its members, ONE Global Design would collectively rank as the 6th largest architecture and design firm in the country, according to Interior Design 2014 rankings. Yet it’s the local touch that sets the global network apart.

Liedtke added that ONE Global Design continues to expand and they anticipate adding new member firms to further extend the depth and reach of the network in the United States and globally.
