Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "India Market Report for ENT Navigation Systems 2017 - MedCore" report to their offering.

New sales are being driven by a large customer base of between 1000 and 1500 ENT surgical centers in India seeking to incorporate navigation technology. In addition, the introduction of new and less expensive IGS systems for ENT procedures will result in significant unit sales growth over the forecast period. Because ENT departments usually generate less revenue than their counterparts, it is expected that many of these systems will be placed in large institutions or private hospitals specializing in ENT procedures. Otolaryngologists often have a stricter budget compared to spinal surgeons and neurosurgeons.

This creates incentive for companies to provide more affordable portable and compact systems, which leads to a lower ASP than in other segments. ENT navigation procedures can also be performed on most systems with neurosurgical, spinal, and orthopedic applications.

However, some companies who do not manufacture a standalone ENT IGS system will bundle their ENT software with cranial software. Lacking some of the specialized features designed for neurosurgery procedures, ENT systems are relatively simple and less expensive. However, ENT procedures are more difficult to visualize than other IGS procedure types as they involve much smaller and hard-to-reach areas of the human body.
