Come join H.E.R.I.’s homeschool school choice celebration 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at Eastport Baptist Church. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The event will include a bounce house, a concert by Mrs. Kate (mrskate.com), and other kids’ events, along with Homeschool 101, an informational session for parents about getting started in high school and navigating dual enrollment.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2018, which will feature more than 32,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“We are very fortunate in Florida to have school choice. Choosing to homeschool allows parents to choose curriculum that fits their child's learning style and their family schedule,” said Karen Robinson, director of H.E.R.I. library services. “Our event shares this knowledge with the parents so they can decide if homeschooling is the right option for them.”

Home Education Resources & Information (H.E.R.I.), a homeschool group in Jacksonville, is hosting the event.

The church is located at 1322 East Port Road in Jacksonville.
