VENTURA, Calif., Jan. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Highrises.com recently launched its first scholarship program, "The Highrises.com Scholarship." Highrises.com is awarding $2,000 per year to students who bring awareness to the environmental benefits of living in a LEED-Certified condominium tower.

The scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student ages 18 years and up who is enrolled full-time in an accredited, four-year U.S. college. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must write a 750 to 1,500 word essay that elaborates on the ways green condominium living can help reduce residents' carbon footprint after researching the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED program.

"We are proud to offer this scholarship as well as provide the opportunity to give something back to college students," said Brian Enright, President of Highrises.com. "LEED-Certified high-rise condominium towers are changing the way people think about city living. We take pride in promoting LEED-Certified high rises, and we're looking forward to reading thoughtful essays that are consistent with our appreciation for green condominium living."

The Highrises.com board of directors will review essays based on style, relevance and quality of content. They will choose the essays that best convey the spirit of the topic.

Highrises.com will publish the winning entries on its website and promote them on its social media channels. The company will award $1,000 to one student each spring and fall semester.
