On Wednesday morning, DEVE Members discussed with the Croatian Presidency priorities for the EU in the field of humanitarian aid. Wednesday afternoon (14.30-17.00), the committee held a public hearing on effectiveness, efficiency and results of EU aid for sustainable development with experts, including Thomas Gass, the Co-Chair of the Global Partnership of Effective Development Cooperation, OECD DAC Chair Susanna Moorehead, Vitalice Meja of the network 'Reality of Aid Africa' and Jean-Letitia Saldanha of the European Network on Debt and Development.
On Thursday morning, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism was on the agenda and MEPs discussed current challenges in development cooperation withe CONCORD, the development NGOs platform.
