Hermes Fund Managers has appointed Matthew Doyle to the newly created role of Commercial Director in Hermes Equity Ownership Services (Hermes EOS), its stewardship service with over £129 billion* of assets under advice.

Hermes EOS helps institutional shareowners globally meet their fiduciary responsibilities and become active owners of public companies. Based in London, Matthew will be responsible for the commercial development of the business and will report into Colin Melvin, Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Equity Ownership Services.

Matthew has extensive experience in both professional and financial services, holding a number of senior roles including Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the London office of global law firm Latham and Watkins, and COO at McGrathNicol, an Australian based advisory firm.

Colin Melvin, Chief Executive Officer of Hermes Equity Ownership Services said:

“Since its launch in 2004, Hermes EOS has grown significantly, providing responsible ownership services to institutional investors, and Matthew’s appointment is a natural progression of this.

“Matthew will play an integral role in developing Hermes EOS’ presence and reputation in the market as it becomes increasingly important for global pension funds to exercise their share owner voting rights and responsibilities, in order to promote their long-term value.”
