Harland Clarke Holdings (HCH) is proud to announce that its strong focus on employee health and work-site wellness initiatives have earned it the highest distinction awarded by the San Antonio Business Group on Health (SABGH) for healthy workplaces. Presented in collaboration with the Mayor’s Fitness Council (MFC), the annual Healthy Workplace Recognition Award honors San Antonio-based employers who maintain a culture of wellness within their organizations and offer programs to support their employees’ health needs.

Presented to HCH for the second year in a row, the award commends companies who promote employee wellness by meeting criteria in six categories:

  • Culture
  • Health promotion and education
  • Physical activity
  • Nutrition
  • Smoking and tobacco cessation
  • Value-based benefits and program design

“We are committed to the well-being of our more than 10,000 team members, and see incredible engagement with the programs we offer to all in our company, including the more than 1,000 who are located in the San Antonio area,” said Paula Jacklin, senior vice president of compensation, benefits and human resource information systems, Harland Clarke Holdings. “We strive to provide a wide variety of activities, including fitness and nutrition challenges, as well as online health coaching and on-site biometric screenings. We are thrilled that the SABGH and MFC have recognized us again for our efforts.”

Recognition at the platinum level requires a minimum of 72 activities implemented across the categories and accounts for the mission, methods, results and budget allotted for each program. Along with the platinum-level award, HCH also received Active Living Plan Recognition, which requires regular participation as an SABGH member and attendance at quarterly forums. SABGH members discuss best practices and serve as business community leaders united in promoting employee health.
