Government of Sweden : New head of the Delegation of Sweden to the OECD and to UNESCO in Paris

The Government today appointed Annika Markovic as head of the Swedish delegation to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Sweden's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Paris.

Ms Markovic is currently serving at the Ministry of the Environment as Sweden's chief negotiator in international negotiations concerning environmental issues. Prior to this, Ms Markovic served at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in New York and the then Department for Global Security at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She was subsequently Ambassador in Manila and Brasilia. Ms Markovic will take up her new position in February 2014.
