As Chairwoman of the Board, Yvonne will provide strategic leadership to the Association positioning it for continued long-term success. Her responsibilities will include facilitating board governance, setting goals, and establishing the objectives and strategic priorities for the Board while ensuring those initiatives are met.

“On behalf of everyone associated with Golden LivingCenters – Indiana, I want to extend a warm congratulations to Yvonne on her well-deserved appointment as Chairwoman and also thank the members of the IHCA/INCAL for their confidence in her ability to lead our industry,” said Wesley Rogers, President of Golden LivingCenters – Indiana. “Yvonne has the heart and skill of a tenured clinician as well as the extraordinary leadership and passion to guide our industry through what may lie ahead in the pandemic. We remain grateful for IHCA/INCAL and its tireless efforts advocating for long-term care. I am confident that Yvonne will bring her steadfast commitment to quality care to her role and continue bringing providers together to serve our beloved residents and healthcare heroes.”

“I am humbled and honored to accept the role of Chairwoman for IHCA/INCAL in large part because I have the utmost respect and admiration for my fellow IHCA/INCAL colleagues, many of whom I have worked with for more than 25 years,” said Yvonne Tanner, Vice President of Clinical Services, of Golden LivingCenters – Indiana. “I want to extend a warm thank you to our outgoing Chairwoman, Donna Kelsey, for all of her work and advocacy throughout the pandemic. I look forward to advancing the mission of the Association, strengthening the collaboration between IHCA/INCAL’s diverse partners and building trust among all stakeholders.”

Yvonne has been associated with IHCA/INCAL for more than 25 years and has in-depth knowledge of the Association as well as the long-term care sector. She joined Golden Living in 2002 as a professional service consultant where she provided clinical guidance for the Indiana LivingCenters. She went on to become the clinical director for the Indiana and Ohio LivingCenters and was later an area vice president overseeing operations in Indiana and Nebraska. Yvonne began her career as a nurse for American Senior Communities in 1996. She earned her degree in Nursing from Marion College.

“My love of nursing began because my grandmother had Alzheimer’s and my first position as a nurse was on an Alzheimer nursing unit,” said Tanner. “I still think about the residents that I served on that unit. Caring for them and learning about their touching stories made such a lasting impression on me. I felt compelled to care for our most vulnerable and elderly residents from that moment on.”
