(Alliance News) - Wholesale prices in Germany remained high in December, but the pace of growth slowed on an annual basis compared to previous months, data from Destatis showed on Monday.

The selling prices in wholesale trade were 12.8% higher in December year-on-year, slowing from November's 14.9% rise and November's 17.4% growth.

On average, wholesale selling prices were 18.8% higher in 2022 compared with 2021.

"The largest impact on the annual rate of change in December 2022 had the price increase in wholesale trade with mineral oil products, up 22.8%. Particularly sharp price increases compared with December 2021 showed in wholesale trade with solid fuels, up 82.3%, as well as with living animals, up 47.6%," Destatis said.

Compared with the previous month, wholesale prices decreased by 1.6% in December.
