From 25 to 26 February, the G20 Finance and central banks deputies will hold their first meeting via video conference. During the meeting, the first under the Italian Presidency, the deputies will discuss the numerous themes of the finance track of the G20 programme. Two symposia on digitalization will be held during the meetings.

The first symposium will be held on 25 February and dedicated to the role of the digital transformation as a driver for economic recovery. The keynote speaker will be Erik Brynjolfsson, Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki, Professor at Stanford University and Director of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab. The aim is to stimulate discussion on the most appropriate measures to promote productivity growth (prosperity), favouring the transition to a greener economy (planet), and ensuring fairer opportunities within and across countries (people).

The following day will be the turn of the symposium dedicated to Finance and digitalization, which will feature Markus K. Brunnermeier, Edwards S. Sanford Professor of Economics, Director of the Bendheim Center for Finance, Princeton University. The symposium aims to discuss the financial sector's challenges and opportunities deriving from digital innovation in the financial sector, with special reference to payment markets and infrastructures.
