The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), in concert with German partner Forum MedTech Pharma, will sponsor a September 21 workshop, “Market Access USA,” in Nuremberg designed to provide European businesses with information about the world’s largest market for medical technology.

The event, which will take place at the Marble Hall of the Academy, will familiarize attendees with Fairfax County, a growing hub for the U.S. med-tech market that accounted for US $122 billion in 2014.

Experts will speak on topics including cultural differences, market structure, health care, the U.S. hospital landscape, admission procedures and product liability. Sessions will include case studies from two European companies and an interactive panel discussion.

Jatinder Kaur Khosla of the FCEDA and Sonja S. Weissman of the Reed Smith law firm will be among experts who speak after introductory remarks from Dr. Matthias Schier of Forum MedTech Pharma.

Other speakers scheduled include Dr. Jorn Leewe, Novumed GmbH; Georg Bauer, TUV SUD Product Service GmbH; Dr. Joerg Traub, SurgicEye GmbH; and Michael Fuchs, Ritter GmbH.
