Etisalat Participates in Tawdheef Recruitment Show Abu Dhabi 2012 Abu Dhabi, 30 January 2012, Etisalat announced its participation in the recruitment show Tawdheef Abu Dhabi 2012, as the corporation seeks to engage with job seekers and discuss the distinctive advantages as a key employer in the UAE.

Etisalat's participation in Tawdheef is part of its ongoing efforts to make job seekers and fresh graduates from the UAE aware of the incentives and benefits it provides as an employer. Etisalat will welcome visitors to its stand at the exhibition, taking place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 31 January to 2 February, 2012.

Discussing Etisalat's participation in the exhibition, Abdulaziz Al Sawaleh, Etisalat Group's Chief Human Resource Officer, stated that the Corporation's participation in this and similar exhibitions around the country is part of its ongoing efforts to provide UAE Nationals with the means to enable them to work and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the UAE.

He also stated that the Corporation is proud of its Emiratisation vision: "Our vision is in parallel with the wise leadership of the UAE, in providing UAE nationals with excellent work opportunities. UAE Nationals now comprise of 90% of top management positions at Etisalat."

Al Sawaleh went into detail about Etisalat's Emiratisation and recruitment strategy, clarifying that the Corporation does not simply just employ UAE Nationals, rather its role has expanded to include partnerships with leading educational institutions and colleges, in order to train and equip its employees with the necessary skills for career development, and to enable them to succeed in top management positions. This required the implementation and set up of special training programmes for IT and technical diploma graduates.

"Our key programmes include the Middle Management Development Programme, which is targeted towards supervisors and newly hired managers, and the Certified Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) which is considered a passport for access to a successful human resource management and development career. Additionally, the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Programme enables participants with the expertise in preparing public company financial statements. We are pleased that nearly 50% of all mid management positions in Etisalat are now filled by UAE nationals," Al Sawaleh said.

Al Sawaleh added that, 10 employees have graduated from the (CIPD) Programme, 150 employees have now graduated from the (IFRS) programme, while 145 employees have successfully completed the Middle Management Development Programme.

Al Salaweh discussed the importance in focusing on the fresh graduates sector, as the Corporation has a firm belief in its role of providing training for them and enabling them to begin a successful career.

"Etisalat has designed special career programmes for graduates from the Higher Colleges of Technology, which consist of seminars and practical workshops. Through this programme, Emiratis now fill approximately 25% of technical positions in the Corporation."

Etisalat's efforts in training and developing its human capital paid off last year as nine of its Emirati employees graduated with a Master's degree in Strategic Leadership from Cranfield University School of Management in the UK, while four employees received a higher diploma in the same programme.
