Enterprises of all sizes can now gain a competitive edge in the 2016 Federal Communications Commission (FCC) 600-MHz spectrum auction using Esri Solutions for Smart Spectrum Analysis.

With three offerings available, Esri’s solutions provide access to collaboration tools and authoritative data to guide companies’ bidding processes. Esri’s Solutions for Smart Spectrum Analysis give participants the intelligent mapping tools necessary to visualize available spectrum and market demographics to better understand the business opportunity in each market. Depending on need, the offerings can connect multiple users who can collaborate and share bid information in real time.

"The FCC auction will be a groundbreaking event," said Randy Frantz, telecommunications solutions director at Esri. "It will include the first ever incentive auction of broadcast television spectrum which will increase the complexity of the bidding process. Organizations need smart location-based information in real time to ensure they make the smartest bids possible and secure the future growth of their wireless networks."

Esri Solutions for Smart Spectrum Analysis offer organizations the ability to map current licenses, identify coverage gaps, gain insight into market demographics, and analyze the value of available spectrum.

“Spectrum is allocated geographically, so it makes sense for enterprises to prepare their bids and plan network expansion with geospatial tools,” Frantz said.

Included with each offering is access to Mosaik CoverageRight, the most comprehensive wireless coverage and licensing database in the United States.

The FCC spectrum auction is expected to kick off March 29, 2016. Service providers will bid on spectrum relinquished from broadcast television providers to support 21st-century wireless broadband needs.
