Equinor - consent for use of Floatel Superior at Grane

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has given Equinor Energy (Equinor) consent to use the Floatel Superior mobile accommodation facility at Grane from 1 April 2022.

Floatel Superior

Floatel Superior is a dynamically positioned (DP-3) semi-submersible facility with an accommodation module aft and an open working deck forward.

The flotel can accommodate 440 people in single cabins when operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf

Grane

Grane is in the central North Sea, just east of the Balder field. The water depth is 128 metres. Grane was discovered in 1991, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2000. The field has been developed with an integrated accommodation, drilling and processing facility with a steel jacket. The facility has 40 well slots. Production started in 2003.
