The President of the ECOWAS Commission, Mr. Marcel Alain de Souza and the Chairman of the International Afro-Ethnic Culture and Business Fair (FEAFRO) Africa, Senator Simplice Dossou Codjo, on Tuesday, 25 January, 2017 initiated talks to organize the 4 edition of the FEAFRO Trade Fair scheduled to hold in Benin come 2018.

During Senator Codjo's courtesy visit to the ECOWAS Commission, the one-time Benin National Assembly member briefed the ECOWAS President on the activities of the emerging FEAFRO event and the honour and responsibility bestowed on the Republic of Benin to host the next 5-day fair which aims at fostering bilateral relations between Brazil and ECOWAS Members States in order to stimulate both economies and facilitate business interaction between participating countries and Brazil as well as engender the Afro-Brazilian culture.

Mr. De Souza commended the initiative to involve ECOWAS in this global economic event and expressed the willingness of the ECOWAS Commission to accompany Benin in this journey.

Silvana Saraiva is the President of FEAFRO which also provides a platform for contemporary African art and aesthetics in the diaspora.
