Dr. David Donohue, President of IHRDC in Boston, announced today that the IHRDC Board of Directors, during their December meeting, promoted Dr. Serdar Dogulu to Vice President, Innovative Learning Solutions. Serdar joined the company in 1999 and, during his 17-year tenure, has been active in developing LSIM, our innovative and unique Learning Simulation Toolbox, and applying it to many of the simulation games that exist in our highly-regarded learning programs. He has also used the same technology to build company-specific simulation learning scenarios for their internal use, including Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Saudi Aramco, Petronas, and ExxonMobil.

“Serdar has led our simulation group in applying the latest in technology to the development of innovative new learning methodologies,” said Dr. Donohue. “His work really responds to our mission of enhancing learning through innovation and his promotion is well deserved.”

Serdar continues to develop new applications, support individual customers with updates and extensions to their LSIM instances and teach in our public and private programs. At an earlier time he was actively involved with the Arlington Group in performing reservoir analysis, setting up monitoring systems for field operations, developing financial models and assisting in arranging project financing for its underground storage projects. Serdar received the PhD from the Pennsylvania State University and completed his undergrad studies in Turkey. Dr. Dogulu is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He is married to Alkim, who is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and they have two charming daughters.
