Damballa, the experts in advanced threat protection and containment, today announced that Fran Dramis has been appointed as Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. The appointment comes on the heels of the strongest sales quarter and year in the company's history, and the recent hiring of two seasoned security executives to the management team.

Mr. Dramis was formerly the Chief Information, Ecommerce and Security Officer for BellSouth. He has served on the private boards of RealOps Inc. and US Oncology, as well as on the public boards of WebMethods, Inc., Avocent Corporation, Ditech Networks and Netezza.

"Fran brings an incredible perspective to his new role as Chairman of the Board," said David Scholtz, CEO for Damballa. "As a member of our board these past few years, he has been instrumental in our success to date. We look forward to his continued guidance and increased leadership role as we continue to expand our business globally in 2014, building upon our company's momentum and increased market recognition of Damballa's unique value."

Damballa automated breach defense platform helps enterprises fill the security gap between failed prevention and their incident response, so they can effectively mitigate risk. Damballa Failsafe discovers and validates active infections with certainty, so incident responders can quickly mitigate risk. Damballa's automated breach defense finds more active threats than any other solution in the market, regardless of the source of the threat, entry vector, or OS of the device.

"No enterprise wants to be the next security headline," said Dramis. "They have already invested heavily in prevention, yet know they are being compromised on an ongoing basis. I am excited to continue working with this management and sales team to educate the market on how Damballa helps close the gap once prevention has failed, reducing time to response and improving their recovery and business continuity efforts."
