The National Council for the Introduction of the Euro as Official Currency in the Republic of Croatia held its eight meeting today at the National and University Library in Zagreb, establishing the Governing Board and six coordination committees.

The meeting was held after the Government adopted the National Plan for the Changeover from the Croatian Kuna to the Euro on 23 November 2020. Zvonimir Savić, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on economic affairs was appointed Chief Coordinator of the Governing Board, while Stipe Župan, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, and Michael Fauland, Vicegover of the Croatian National Bank, were appointed members.

The National Council also appointed chief committee coordinators of the six coordination committees, so the Coordination Committee for Cash Changeover will be headed by Ivana Jakir-Bajo, Viceguvernor of the Croatian National Bank, while Ana Zorić, Chief Advisor to the Minister of Finance was appointed as Chief Committee Coordinator of the Coordination Committee for Legislative Adjustments. The Coordination Committee for the Adjustment of the General Government will be headed by Ante Matijević, Chief State Tresurer of the Ministry of Finance, while Zdravko Zrinušić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, was appointed Chief Committee Coordinator of the Coordination Committee for the Adjustment of the Financial System. Nataša Mikuš-Žigman, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will head the Coordination Committee for the Adjustment of the Economy and Consumer Protection, while Zvonimir Frka-Petešić, Head of the Prime Minister's Office will be the Chief Committee Coordinator of the Coordination Committee for Communication.
