Lakestone Bank & Trust (Lakestone) will host its first Free Community Shred Day of 2018 on Saturday, April 21, at the Main Office location in downtown Lapeer.

Two Xtreme Shreds, LLC. shredding trucks will be on site at the Lakestone Main Office from 9 a.m.-noon, or until the trucks are full, for people to drop off their shredding. Paperwork is deposited into a special bin. Once the bin is full, it is lifted and the contents are dropped into the mobile shredding truck. Each 96 gallon bin of paper takes less than three minutes to shred.

It is not necessary to remove staples, paper clips or bindings - the truck will shred through them. Items that should not be included are: compact discs, floppy disks, magazines or newspapers. Please limit paperwork to be shredded to 10 banker's boxes to help ensure everyone can take part in this service. This event is open to the entire community. You do not need to be a Lakestone Bank & Trust customer to participate.

This is the 13th consecutive year the Bank has hosted Free Community Shred Days. There will be two more Shred Days in 2018: on Saturday, May 12, shredding will be accepted at the Imlay City (M-53) office; and on Saturday, August 11, shredding will be accepted at the Capac office. All shred days run from 9 a.m.-noon or until the trucks are full. More information is available on the Bank's website, LAKESTONEBank.com.
