Communications services companies ticked up amid expectation of further dealmaking in the sector.

Spain's Telefónica this week sold its Telxius Telecom tower division, comprising about 31,000 tower sites in Europe and Latin America, to American Tower in a $9.4 billion transaction, the latest in a string of deals that have seen European telecom companies cash in on their towers.

Cable-channel group AMC Networks hired Christina Spade, former finance chief of ViacomCBS, to lead its finances through the coronavirus pandemic and help grow its streaming business.
