T-Mobile US hit a record high after it reported stronger-than-anticipated subscriber growth.

Dish Network shares were up modestly after it posted growth in low-cost online television service but slower wireless-customer demand in its first full quarter as a cellphone carrier.

AT&T named director and former Federal Communications Commission chairman William Kennard as its new chairman starting in January, replacing longtime chairman Randall Stephenson.
