SEATTLE, Jan. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ClearSign Combustion Corporation (NASDAQ: CLIR), an emerging leader in combustion and emissions control technology for industrial, commercial and utility markets, announced today the signing of an agreement with Tricor Refining, LLC, for the field validation of its Duplex(TM) technology at Tricor's refinery in Bakersfield, California.
Tricor will retrofit a 15 MMBtu/hr vertical cylindrical refinery heater with ClearSign's unique, patent-pending Duplex technology. On completion, Tricor will re-commission a critical asset, and it is ClearSign's expectation that the company will expand plant capacity and profitability, while meeting stringent environmental requirements in a cost-effective manner. ClearSign will execute this project in collaboration with Advanced Combustion and Process Controls, Inc., a critical supply chain partner who will oversee the installation.
ClearSign's solution uniquely offers the potential to achieve ultra-low NOx emissions and optimize the performance of Tricor's existing equipment -- in this case, bringing a stranded asset that was last used in 1984 back to life. As a result, ClearSign anticipates that Tricor will bring new capacity online while improving their bottom line.
