PG&E TO REPLACE GAS LINES ON MITCHELL AVENUE BETWEEN

EAST LINCOLN STREET AND WASHINGTON AVENUE

OROVILLE, CA - January 23, 2017 - Starting on Monday, January 30, 2017 and continuing through approximately March 31, 2017, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Company will be replacing the natural gas lines under a portion of Mitchell Avenue. The project involves the trenching and installation of new 4-inch gas main and associated lateral re-connections beneath Mitchell Avenue, between East Lincoln Street and Washington Avenue. Gas customers of PG&E that are affected by this work will be notified by PG&E. When completed, the new main will provide more capacity and safer, more reliable gas service to customers.

Work will occur from 7:00 P.M. until 7:00 A.M. Monday thru Friday, with access limited to any residence and business in the construction area. In addition, the traffic signals at the intersections of Mitchell/Lincoln, Mitchell/Myers and Mitchell/Washington will be placed into 4-way red flash mode during the construction time.

Motorists can expect traffic delays during this project and are urged to use an alternate route or if entering the construction area, to proceed with caution through the work zones in order to protect PG&E employees and City inspectors working in the road. For questions about this project please contact PG&E at (916) 936-7649.
