Heavier rain is expected to move into the area later this afternoon, prior to switching into freezing rain and snow tonight. The switch is expected to happen around 7pm.
Because rain would only dilute and wash away any salt treatments put down during the work day, Public Works will begin treating all city streets beginning at 7:00 pm tonight, and all streets should be treated by 10:00 pm.
Should the weather forecast change, the Public Works Department will adjust accordingly.
