Energy Efficiency Financing Program

The Main Street Energy Efficiency Financing Program is an on-bill financing program available for citizens and customers of the City of Bainbridge. The program is designed to improve energy efficiency in the State of Georgia. Funds are available for residential homeowners where natural gas service is available. Financing is available for the following activities to purchase and installation of natural gas ENERGY STAR residential natural gas appliances.

The following specifics will apply to each residential loan:

· Maximum loan amount- $5000· Loans are available for "Eligible Funding Activities" only· Maximum loan term- 60 months· Loans will carry a 0% interest rate· Each loan will carry a $3.00 per month administrative fee· Residential loan payments will be added to the customer's monthly bill

An example of how the program works:

o A customer has learned about the Main Street Energy Efficiency Financing Program and wants to finance the conversion of any electric appliance to natural gas or tank water heater to tankless modelo The customer would contact a qualified program contractor to provide an estimate of worko The customer would complete the loan application and provide a copy of the estimate of worko Bainbridge would evaluate the loan application according to eligible activities, qualified contractor, and credit approval processo If the loan is approved, Bainbridge would authorize the work to begino Once the work is completed and inspected, then Bainbridge will pay the contractor the lesser of the amount approved in the loan application or the actual costo Bainbridge will begin billing the customer the appropriate monthly installments plus the monthly administrative fee of $3.00
