On May 9th, China Minmetals President& Party Group Deputy Secretary and MCC Chairman & Party Committee Secretary Guo Wenqing met a visiting delegation led by Baise Municipal Party Committee Secretary & Standing Committee Member and National People's Congress Director Peng Xiaochun and Mayor Zhou Yijue. Both sides held talks, commonly reviewed their favourable cooperation history, looked forward to hopful cooperation prospects and exchanged opinions on further strengthening deep cooperation in such domains as municipal infrastructure, highway and rail transit, airports, specialty towns, health preservation tourism and metaland mineralresources.

Guo Wenqing welcomed the delegation of Secretary Peng Xiaochun and Mayor Zhou Yijue to MCC, expressed gratitude for the strong support that the Baise Municipal Party Committee and Government have given MCC for many years, and briefly introduced the reform and development history of China Minmetals and MCC. He pointed out that MCC has succeeded in achieving transformation, and has applied itself to being the 'national team of metallurgical construction, the main force of capital construction and the pacesetter of emerging industries, insisting on taking the road of high-tech construction in the long term'. At present, China Minmetals and MCC have succeeded in implementing their strategic recombination, the first domestic strategic recombination of two Fortune 500 enterprises. Following the recombination, the new China Minmetals has an asset scale of RMB 1.6 trillion, total assets of RMB 813.9 billion and financial business management assets of RMB 814.2 billion. It also has 240,000 staff on active duty and realized operating revenue of RMB 440 billion in 2016. The new China Minmetals is one of the three central enterprises holding the full range of financial licenses. It can work in such businesses as securities, funds and banking, and possesses strong financing and investment ability and resource allocation capacity. The new China Minmetals has opened an all-round industrial chain which runs from the acquisition of diggings to reconnaissance, design, construction, mining, smelting, logistics and trade, and has been approved as a state-owned capital investment company by the State Council. It applies itself to creating a metaland mineralindustry group which is 'First in China and first-class in the world' and being the indemnitor of national metaland mineral resource safety. The new China Minmetals has 32 national-level key laboratories and scientific and technical platforms, more than 60,000 professional engineering technicians and over 20,000 patents in force, ranking 4th among central enterprises. Both the original China Minmetals and MCC have been confirmed as central enterprises taking real estate as their main industry by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Minmetals Land and MCC Real Estate have high popularity in the real estate industry, and the new China Minmetals owns over 200 wholly-owned or holding enterprises in more than 60 countries and regions overseas.

Guo Wenqing pointed out that Baise is a crucial city on 'the Belt and Road' route and a famous old revolutionary base area with advantages in regional transport, ecological environment and specialty resources. Both the new China Minmetals Corporation and MCC have both the will and the responsibility to spare no efforts to support Baise City's development. He hopes that both parties will take the signing of this agreement as an opportunity, enhance communication and exchange, actively discuss proper cooperation models and further deepen their cooperation in fields including municipal infrastructure, highway and rail transit, airports, small specialty towns, health preservation tourism and metaland miningresources, thereby attaining mutual development and win-win results for the government and the enterprise. MCC will give full play to its comprehensive industry chain advantages including reconnaissance, design, construction, supervision and operation, complete all kinds of projects with the greatest speed, highest quality and optimal costs, contribute to the construction of Baise and promote the overall development of the city's economy and society.

Peng Xiaochun expressed gratitude for the contributions made by MCC and China Minmetals to Baise City's economic and social development for many years, and pointed out that the old revolutionary base area of Baise has fallen behind in such domains as municipal infrastructure, thus restricting its economic and social development. Baise is accelerating the development and construction of the New District, enlarging the traffic construction of expressways, light rail, cloud rail and airports, and advancing the development of small specialty towns, tourism real estate, health preservation and so on. He pointed out that Baise City has gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of MCC and China Minmetals through these talks, which has reinforced his confidence in enhancing cooperation. Baise City welcomes MCC and China Minmetals to increase the strength of its investment and development. The Municipal Party Committee and Government will give strong support as always.

Zhou Yijue stressed that Baise City has good development opportunities and huge development potential. Its GDP, fiscal revenue and total industrial output value are in the front rank of Guangxi Province. The cooperation space of both parties is wide and has huge potential. He looks forward to further reinforcing cooperation with the new China Minmetals and MCC in domains including municipal infrastructure, talent cultivation, small specialty towns and metaland mineralresources.

After the meeting, witnessed by leaders including Guo Wenqing, Peng Xiaochun and Zhou Yijue, MCC Vice President Wang Shilei and Baise Municipal Deputy Mayor Mo Qianfeng signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective parties.

The meeting was attended by Baise City personnel Yang Shengjun, Liu Mingguo, Huang Caibi, Zhong Hengqin, Mo Qianfeng and Lan Shudong, and MCC personnel Li Fuli, Zhang Zhaoxiang, Xiao Xuewen, Zou Hongying, Wang Shilei, Zeng Jianzhong, Gao Xiaoyu, Wang Jionghui, Xue Fei, Yue Qingrui, Song Zhanjiang, Pan Biyi, Chen Gang, Yang Kui, Huang Tao, Ye Zhixiang and others.
