For the purposes of making full use of the negotiation and cooperation platform of SASAC and the People's Government of Hainan Province, deepening the cooperation between central enterprises and Hainan under the new normal, new strategy and new opportunity, promoting the development of the South China Sea area and the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island, and better serving the national 'One Belt and One Road' initiative, the Symposium for Deepening Strategic Cooperation between Hainan and Central Enterprises was held in Haikou on May 15th. Zhang Yi, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of SASAC and Huang Danhua, Vice Chairman and Member of the SASAC CPC Committee attended the symposium; Zhang Zhaoxiang, General Manager, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of MCC was invited to the symposium to hold discussions concerning the development of Hainan with the major principals of 54 other central enterprises.
During the symposium, an in-depth exchange on how to strengthen mutual cooperation was held between Zhang Zhaoxiang and Luo Shixiang, Deputy Secretary General of the Hainan government, Ni Jian, SASAC Director of Hainan Province, Liu Minggui, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan Development Holdings Co., Ltd., et al. Zhang Zhaoxiang said that MCC would play an active part in the construction of Hainan and make a contribution to the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island.
He went on, "With the implementation of the 'One Belt and One Road' initiative, Hainan occupies a more prominent position in the larger pattern of China's opening-up, becomes an important gateway for the organic linking of 'One Belt and One Road' and ushers in an historical development opportunity. As a super-large group directly subordinate to SASAC and a national innovative enterprise, MCC is the main force of China's infrastructure construction. Faced with the new normal of economic development, MCC is forging the upgraded 'Four Beams and Eight Pillars' business system in accordance with the development vision of 'Focusing on MCC's main business to build a better MCC'. MCC has successfully realized its overall transformation, fully implemented major national deployments and actively participated in the construction of 'One Belt and One Road'." He added, "MCC established its Hainan Branch in 2013 and has recently set up MCC Hainan Investment Development Co., Ltd. Taking this symposium as an opportunity, MCC will continue to reinforce and make contributions to the development of Hainan. MCC wishes to strengthen cooperation with Hainan in such aspects as the construction of transportation and municipal infrastructure and the renovation of shantytowns."
Leaders of the Hainan government said, "Hainan is in a stage of accelerated development. We hope that large, credible and strong central enterprises like MCC will take an active role in the construction of various fields in Hainan and we wish to further enhance communication and expand cooperation with respect to establishing a venture with MCC that we can jointly invest in, develop and quicken the implementation of."
During the symposium, Zhang Zhaoxiang visited MCC Hainan Investment Development Co., Ltd. and heard the leader's company development work report. He emphasized that, "MCC Hainan Investment Development Co., Ltd. should accurately find its orientation, control risks, achieve innovations in its business mode and strive to make more contributions to strengthening, optimizing and expanding MCC's development."
Huang Dan, Vice President of MCC, Song Zhanjiang, Chairman of CTMCC, Chen Jie, Chairman of MCC Hainan Investment Development Co., Ltd., Zeng Jianzhong, Director of MCC's Domestic Market Development Division and Wang Feng, General Manager of MCC Hainan Investment Development Co., Ltd. accompanied Zhang Zhaoxiang to the symposium.
