The Chester County Agricultural Development Council (Ag Council) and the Chester County Board of Commissioners are pleased to welcome four new board members to the Ag Council's board, effective January 12. The four new members represent a cross section of the agricultural operations and industries found in Chester County, and will contribute to the Ag Council's mission to raise awareness of the economic impact of the local farming industry and promote excellence in farming.

Deirdre Flemming is co-owner of Two Gander Farm, a 10-acre certified organic produce operation in Downingtown. The farm is located within a 262-acre-preserve that is owned by The Brandywine Conservancy.

Adam Mowery is the Managing Member of Mowery Environmental, LLC (Mendenhall, Pa.), an environmental consulting company that works primarily with the agricultural industry.

Anthony Vietri is the owner of Va La Vineyards, a small family-run operation in Avondale that specializes in growing rare northern Italian grape varieties that are made into unique wine blends.

Gary Westlake is the owner of Westlake Tree Farms, LLC with farms in the north and western parts of the county totaling 280 acres over three townships. He is a 3rd generation Christmas tree grower and nurseryman.

Ag Council board members are appointed by the County Commissioners to administer programs to educate the general public on the importance of agriculture and encourage the continuation of farming in Chester County.
