Challenges, a weekly news magazine published by Caribbean Media, today announced the addition of more sections to its website, www.challengesnews.com, to coincide with the magazine offering, and meet online readership preferences in addition to news consumption demand.

News stories will now be classified in the same sections as the printed magazine with the addition of a recently launched “Trending” section, which is exclusive to the website.

“We are catering to the needs of our online readership, as well as providing more news-as-it-happens, along with content that younger Haitians want with our Trending section,” said Challenges Publisher and Caribbean Media CEO Laurence Bigio.

The Trending section is a multimedia offering that features news, entertainment/celebrity interviews, food/restaurant reviews and video content. This effort targets younger Haitian-Americans living in diaspora communities in Miami, NYC, Boston and Montreal.

Another enhancement to the website is the Diaspora Resources section, which provides Haiti consular offices contact information for all locations in the U.S. and Canada, as well as Haitian nonprofits in Miami, NYC, Boston and Canada.

Challenges is also making more content available for free, including Portraits of renowned individuals and opinion pieces via Perspectives. This is in addition to the three news stories already provided for free each week online.

News stories on the website are available in both English and French. You can subscribe to Challenges for $52 USD/year or $6 USD/month. The print edition is available only in French.
