Canada November retail sales down 0.9 percent on gas, autos

(Reuters) - Canadian retail sales fell by 0.9 percent in November from October to C$50.39 billion ($37.85 billion), in large part due to lower gasoline prices, as well as lower sales at motor vehicle and parts dealers, Statistics Canada said on Wednesday.

Sales were down in six of 11 subsectors, representing 75 percent of retail trade. In volume terms, retail sales declined 0.4 percent from October.
