The Sacramento Press Club is kicking off its 2014 calendar on Wednesday, January 15 with a special screening of a Frontline/Univision documentary about the perils facing female migrant farmworkers.

The award-winning film "Rape in the Fields" will be preceded by a cocktail reception and remarks from Dolores Huerta, president of the Dolores Huerta Foundation and co-founder with César Chávez of the National Farm Workers Association. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

The following day, Thursday, January 16, the Press Club will begin its series of monthly lunches for the year with an examination of how the Affordable Care Act is impacting nonprofit hospitals and their ability to provide services to Californians. Former Congressman and Department of Finance Director Tom Campbell will discuss his latest research detailing the consequences of potential new state requirements on nonprofit hospitals, which provide the majority of all hospital services in California.
