Health information network Availity and AltaPoint, a certified EHR and practice management company, announce the successful integration of Availity's clearinghouse and revenue cycle workflow solutions into AltaPoint's practice management system. The companies are working together to provide AltaPoint clients with the most efficient suite of revenue cycle management services possible.

This integration offers AltaPoint clients the highest level of integrated clearinghouse services available. "We chose a deep integration with Availity for two reasons: first, because they offer exceptional capabilities to meet our clients' needs; and secondly, they understand the importance of evolving with the market," said Douglas Lyman, founder and CEO of AltaPoint. "Those reasons, along with our complete confidence in their ability to execute, made it easy to name them our preferred vendor of choice."

"Being selected as AltaPoint's vendor of choice is a true honor," said Jeff Chester, Availity chief revenue officer. "Their commitment to a highly efficient, simple revenue cycle for their clients complements Availity's goal of building healthy, thriving medical businesses perfectly."

AltaPoint clients can now benefit from time-saving automated patient eligibility checks and automated secondary claim submission. "By integrating with Availity, our clients no longer have to leave the AltaPoint application to check on a patient's eligibility and benefits. It's completed automatically with the results returned within the system. And, any eligibility errors are flagged for immediate correction. This greatly improves their workflow, reduces denials, and saves a tremendous amount of time," said Lyman.

Chester went on to note that the ability for AltaPoint to offer clients automated secondary claim filing is also a huge win. "AltaPoint understands the value of streamlining the physician practice workflow," said Chester. "Their focus on automating as many parts of it as possible - like eligibility checking and secondary claim filing - will make an enormous difference for their clients. The ability to anticipate the information the clients need and present it without them having to take extra steps to get it - or to deal with manually printing and mailing documents - it is fantastic."

In addition to automated eligibility and secondary claim filing, the integration work also enables AltaPoint clients to automate the posting of electronic remittances back into the system, and to automatically submit claim files, further reducing manual tasks and the opportunity for errors, and simplifying the overall workflow.

"We are delighted with the great work between our two companies and the value it will bring our clients and the industry," said Lyman. "Like Availity, we want our clients to have the healthiest businesses possible, and this is a great step toward making that happen."
