Bengaluru, 16 January 2019: AirAsia India started flights connecting Bengaluru and Mumbai from 15 January 2019 with a late night connection! Both the inaugural flights from Bengaluru and Mumbai witnessed a load of 90%.

The inauguration ceremony at Mumbai was graced by Mr.Banmali Agrawala, President of Infrastructure, Defense and Aerospace of Tata Sons Limited and Mr.Aditya Pansari, Assistant General Manager, Aero Commercial, Mumbai International Airport Limited. A traditional lamp lighting, ribbon cutting and cake cutting ceremony was held in the presence of all dignitaries and Allstars of AirAsia India. Mr.Sunil Bhaskaran, MD & CEO, AirAsia India and Mr.Sanjay Kumar, COO of AirAsia India were also a part of the inaugural celebrations.

Commenting on the new connection, Mr.Sunil Bhaskaran, MD & CEO, AirAsia India said, 'We at AirAsia India are excited to make our mark in the commercial capital, and I am certain that we will be able to cater to the burgeoning base of flyers in Mumbai, and bolster connectivity to and from the city.

Guests in Bengaluru were also welcomed with a lamp lighting and cake cutting ceremony joined by members from Kempegowda Internal Airport, CISF and Allstars from AirAsia India.

AirAsia India currently flies to 19 destinations with its hubs in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Kolkata covering Kochi, Goa, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Pune, Guwahati, Imphal, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Srinagar, Bagdogra, Ranchi, Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai and Mumbai.
