International stocks trading in New York closed lower on Monday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts ticked down 0.9% to 136.84. The European index slipped 1% to 128.33. The Asian index was down 0.9% to 165.35. The Latin American index edged down 0.3% to 185.65, while the emerging-markets index lost 0.7% to 279.37.

Credit Suisse Group AG was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

The Swiss bank fell 1.9% after naming Dixit Joshi as its new financial chief, part of a broad reshuffle as it tries to find its footing after a series of scandals and financial losses.

Energy company Eni SpA rose 0.2% after it said it made a significant gas discovery in the Cronos-1 well drilled in Block 6, which is operated by Eni Cyprus holding 50% interest with TotalEnergies as a partner.
