International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher Thursday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts closed 0.1% higher at 153.30. The European index fell 0.2% to 145.95. The Latin American index rose 0.2% to 194.38. The emerging-markets index climbed 0.6% to 306.88. The Asian index increased 0.4% to 182.46.

The ADRs of Vallourec and Evaxion Biotech traded actively.

ADRs of Vallourec rose after the manufacturing company said it secured a number of orders in the Gulf of Mexico from the U.S. exploration and production company LLOG Exploration Offshore. The orders are for the supply of 25,000 metric tons of line pipe, the French company said.

ADRs of Evaxion Biotech jumped after the clinical-stage biotechnology company said the Food and Drug Administration granted fast-track designation to its EVX-01 personalized cancer therapy in combination with Merck & Co.'s cancer drug Keytruda.
