The move recognizes Jarvis’ contributions to the company since his arrival in 2007, while also serving the ongoing leadership needs of 72andSunny’s expanding global presence. As CEO, Matt will continue to bring strategic rigor to business innovation, development, and communications across all of its offices, in partnership with Chief Operating Officer Evin Shutt, Chief Talent Officer Sedef Onar, and Chief Development Officer Tom Johnstone. He will also continue to help drive the agency’s brand citizenship practice, steering efforts to bring diversity and equal access to the next generation of talent in the industry. “Matt has always been more than a Chief Strategy Officer,” said John Boiler. “He’s taken accountability for everything from creative development, to finances, brand management, commercial relationships – all of it.”

Prior to joining 72andSunny, Matt was a strategist and an entrepreneur, previously serving as president of Justice Telecom, which he helped grow to be recognized as #1 on the Inc. 500. Over the last year, with Matt’s leadership contributions, 72andSunny has continued to expand its roster to include Seventh Generation, bobble, Instagram, Piaggio, Axe Unilever Sustainable Living Plan, CIROC Vodka, Comcast Xfinity, Los Angeles’ 2024 Olympic bid, and the most-highly coveted new business review of the year, General Mills.

“Our partnership has always been a little weird for this industry,” said Glenn Cole. “We have always shared the offices of chief executive, chief strategist, and chief creative, and we’ll continue to retain that partnership of unanimity. But Matt’s contributions over the years have really outstripped the title and role of Chief Strategy Officer. He is our CEO.”

“My heart beats for 72andSunny and for the ideas that are the pillars of this company,” said Matt Jarvis. “John and Glenn’s belief that an optimistic posture inherently creates more opportunities and that a great company can simultaneously serve both its clients and its people is what first drew me here and what will continue to drive the future of 72andSunny. As we continue in this new chapter, we aspire to be both brave and generous in pursuit of greater cultural impact and the personal growth of our people.”
