Zaid Al-Asad

Mr. Zaid Al-Asad is Vice President at Shuaa Capital PJSC.
He joined SHUAA Capital in June 2005 to build up the sell side’s quantitative research practice.
In June 2007, he became responsible for managing the quantitative efforts and risk control at SHUAA Asset Management, where he continues to assist portfolio managers by generating performance and risk attribution reports, creating optimization algorithms, and developing a number of proprietary trading systems to enhance performance.
He has been instrumental in developing SHUAA Asset Management’s decision support systems and proprietary database.
Prior to joining SHUAA Capital, Mr. Al-Asad was part of a Hitachi Consulting team building systems for US energy companies.
He also developed software at National Instruments and the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas.
Mr. Al-Asad holds an MBA in Finance from The American University in Dubai and a BBA in Management Science & Information Systems from the University of Texas.
