Storer was appointed to the position of Executive Director by the six-member Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) Board of Trustees and began his duties as the Corporation's chief executive on February 16, 2000.
The Executive Director oversees the management of the Fund and the daily operation of the Corporation, and acts as spokesperson for the Corporation along with the Board Chair.
Previously, in May 1983, Mr. Storer worked for the APFC for nine years as an Investment Officer.
During that period he assisted the Chief Investment Officer in managing the marketable debt portfolio, provided oversight of corporate equity managers and assisted with strategic planning and supervised APFC portfolio managers.
He left the APFC in 1992 to accept the position of Chief Investment Officer for the State of Alaska Department of Revenue, Treasury Division.
While there he was directly responsible for overseeing the management of 18 public funds, which during his tenure reached an aggregate value in excess of $19 billion.
