Rachel Taft

Ms. Rachel Taft is a Medical Research Analyst at Economist Intelligence Unit Ltd.
She is one of Bazian's Medical Research Analysts.
She has experience in producing a wide range of evidence-based products, encompassing all phases of product design, critical appraisal, authoring and presentation.
She also has extensive experience in communicating scientific and medical research to the public and to healthcare commissioners.
With her medical background, she takes the role of clinical checker across the range of evidence reviews and healthcare appraisals that Bazian produces.
In addition, she provides clinical oversight and support to other members of Bazian’s scientific team.
Ms. Taft has worked on a range of projects for governments, health ministries, academic journals and healthcare providers.
Key projects to which she has contributed include providing content for the daily rapid science/health news appraisal service of Behind the Headlines for NHS Choices; evidence updates and quality appraisal of shared-decision-making tools and patient information products for NHS England; evidence summaries for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence; and evidence-based technical reports to support the formulation of guidelines by the European Centre for Disease Control.
She has also provided clinical oversight of work produced for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Dissemination Centre and the Map of Medicine.
Prior to joining EIU Healthcare, she gained experience of working in general practice, care of the elderly and general surgery.
Ms. Taft qualified in Medicine at the University of Wales College of Medicine.
