POPMOG (Popular Multiplayer Online Games) was started in 2009 in Berlin/Germany by the GameGenetics founders as the first independent publishing platform for browser-based MMO games. Independent means in this context, that GameGenetics does not develop games itself, but instead integrates popular online games from partner developers into the POPMOG portal and into sites of its cooperation partners such as portals and social networks

Atlas Venture GmbH was the Munich office of the independent and partner-owned venture capital investment group Atlas Venture Inc., headquartered in Boston with additional offices in London and Paris, plus an administrative office in Amsterdam. The group originated in 1980 and focuses on high-technology financing, aiming for a transatlantic operations model. The Munich office was established in the late 1990s. The group manages a range of venture capital funds. Atlas Venture GmbH was liquidated in 2009.
