Nikko Asset Management Asia Ltd. (Nikko AM Asia) is the hedge fund management subsidiary of Nikko Asset Management International Ltd., ultimately owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, Inc. (TYO: 8309) in Japan. Formerly known as DBS Asset Management Ltd. (DBSAM), the firm was established in 1982. In 2010, they formed a strategic alliance with The Sumitomo Trust & Banking Co. and Nikko Asset Management Co., Ltd. to combine DBSAM and Nikko Asset Management, which was renamed Nikko Asset Management Asia Ltd. Headquartered in Singapore, DBSAM provide fund management services to individuals and institutional investors, such as corporations, pension funds, banks, endowments, charitable organizations, central banks, government agencies and funds, supranational organizations, and pooled investment vehicles, including Japanese investment trusts.

TAAM (Singapore) Pte Ltd. (TAAM-Singapore) is the Singapore investment management subsidiary of Australia-based Treasury Asia Asset Management Ltd., ultimately held by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, Inc. (TK: 8309) in Japan. Treasury Asia Asset Management Ltd., a specialist Asia Pacific boutique investment manager founded in 2005 by Peter Sartori and Treasury Group Ltd., was acquired by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings subsididary Nikko Asset Management in 2013. The firm specializes in the Asia Pacific Region, managing portfolios for both institutional and retail investors to achieve long-term capital growth. All non-investment tasks are outsourced to the parent firm. TAAM is a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment and is adopting and incorporating them into their environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework. In addition, they subscribe to Responsible Research, an independent provider of Asian ESG research which provides specialized resources and research capabilities to assess a company's ability to deliver superior returns and any risks to earnings that may not be captured in the traditional financial records of a company.
