John Pedrick

Mr. Pedrick joined BWC in July 2007.
Previously, he was Assistant Director of Product Regulation and Actuarial Services for the Ohio Department of Insurance.
At the Department of Insurance, he advised the Director (Ohio’s Insurance Commissioner) regarding property and casualty insurance markets, and managed P&C contract and rate regulation, statistical reporting, and research.
During his tenure, he testified an expert witness on P&C rates, produced many of the Department’s reports on P&C markets, and provided actuarial analysis of various legislative matters.
He was active on several committees of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and was appointed as one of five experts to the NAIC Advisory Panel to the Federal Trade Commission.
He joined the Department of Insurance in 1995.
Before joining the Department of Insurance, Mr. Pedrick was an actuary with Providian Auto and Home Insurance Co. and with the P&C Division of CIGNA Corp., now known as ACE-INA.
Prior to his actuarial career, he spent five years on the faculty of The Hill School, where he taught Calculus, various mathematics, and computer science courses, and was a Head of Dormitory for the college-preparatory boarding school.
Mr. Pedrick is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and is active in both professional organizations.
He has spoken numerous times at actuarial and insurance meetings regarding medical malpractice insurance, credit scoring, insurance markets, and other regulatory issues.
Mr. Pedrick received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from West Chester University, in Pennsylvania.
He and his wife, live in Dublin, Ohio.
