Ian Wilson

The Mineralogical Society is an international society for those working in the mineral sciences. The non-profit company is based in Twickenham, UK. The British company host research meetings to explores recent advances in research on minerals and their role in the environment. The society has representatives in universities in the British Isles with departments of geology/earth science who promote the society and membership to students and staff. The society has a principal editor and brings together researchers from all areas of high-pressure mineralogy & crystallography, mineral magnetism, molecular crystallography, computational mineral physics, geophysics, and planetary science. The society was founded in response to the absence of a mineralogical society since the British Mineralogical Society ended in 1806.
