Dr. Harald Oberhofer is a Senior Economist at Österreichisches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung.
He has been working in the Research Group “Industrial Economics, Innovation, and International Competition” since 2015.
He is a Professor of Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
His research interests include International Economics, empirical Industrial Organization, and Applied Econometrics.
He regularly serves as a consultant to international organizations such as the OECD and the World Bank, where he analyses the impact of institutional regulations on firm performance, also over the business cycle.
Before joining WIFO, he worked as Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Salzburg, where he received his habilitation (venia docendi) in Economics.
Dr. Harald Oberhofer studied at the University of Innsbruck and holds a doctorate in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Innsbruck.
