Mr. Haissam Arabi is Chief Executive Officer & Fund Manager at Gulfmena Alternative Investments Ltd & Chief Executive Officer at Tebyan Asset Management Ltd.
He is a Lebanese national and the Founder of Gulfmena.
He has lived most of his life in the Arabian Gulf.
He has more than 17 years experience in the financial arena of which the last 14 he spent specialising in equity investments in the MENA markets.
He guided the structuring of several regional mutual funds and specialised portfolios and he also incubated new trading strategies, some of which will form an integral component of Gulfmena’s alternative investment approach.
He worked with SHUAA Capital, a leading regional investment bank based in Dubai as Managing Director, having founded its Asset Management Division.
In his capacity as SHUAA’s lead fund manager, he also managed the firm’s long-only equity funds, both conventional as well as Shari’ah compliant, until June 2008.
He also led a team of 38 professionals.
Assets under Management during his tenure grew from USD 18.0 million in 2001 to over USD 1.85 billion by June 2008.
Mr. Arabi is a member of the DIFC Authority’s Wealth Management Advisory Council.
He enjoys both a regional and an international media profile and makes frequent public appearances on TV, radio, conferences, periodicals and prime daily newspapers.
