PET polymers are used to manufacture packaging material for carbonates soft drinks, water, energy drinks, iced tea, juices and other beverages and liquids. The total global demand of PET polymers is around 14 million tons per annum with growth rates of 8-9% or equivalent to demand growth of around 1 million tons per annum. The organization has a clear goal to maintain a leading position in the regional markets and enhance its reach to the global market. Today Indorama operates manufacturing plants in the continents of Asia, Europe and North America. These three continents constitute around 90% of global demand for PET polymers. To consolidate its regional presence, Indorama has taken strategic initiatives in year 2007 acquired a PET polymers plant each in Netherlands and United Kingdom in Europe and started construction and installation of a Greenfield plant in Alabama, USA.
