Ward
has been an Executive Director of The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey since May 22, 2008.
He is President of Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corp., the Newark Legal and Communications Center Urban Renewal Corp., and the New York and New Jersey Railroad Corp.
Prior to his current position at Port Authority, Mr. Ward was Chief of Planning and External Affairs and Director of Port Redevelopment from 1997 to 2002.
Most recently, he was Managing Director of The General Contractors Association of New York, Inc. (GCA).
Before the GCA, Mr. Ward was Chief Executive Officer of American Stevedoring, Inc. Before American Stevedoring, Mr. Ward was Commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the Bloomberg Administration from 2002 to 2005.
Before DEP, Mr. Ward was Senior Vice President of Transportation and Commerce at the Economic Development Corp., an Assistant Commissioner at the Department of Telecommunications and Energy, and Director of Research at the Department of Consumer Affairs for the City of New York.
Previously, he was an Adjunct Professor at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
Mr. Ward received a BA degree from Macalester College and a Master of Theological Studies degree from the Harvard University's Divinity School.
