The chemical producer has announced a 20% increase in Kynar PVDF production capacity at its Changshu site in China, with operations scheduled to begin in 2028. This significant investment aligns with the group's strategy to strengthen its Kynar PVDF presence, with a pace and capacity tailored to accelerating demand across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
The project leverages Arkema's global R&D ecosystem, which supports the group's leadership in innovation related to advanced PVDF applications and technologies. This network includes the Changshu center in China, as well as centers in France, Japan, South Korea, and the United States, enabling close collaboration with customers and the accelerated development of solutions for the energy transition and high-tech industries.
Arkema is a global leader in PVDF. Its Changshu platform is its largest production site, while the group also manufactures the material in Calvert City, Kentucky (USA)—where a capacity expansion is set to go live in the second quarter of 2026—as well as in Pierre-Bénite, France.
Arkema is one of the world's leaders in the development, manufacturing and marketing of chemical products. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
