Mr. Trantum attained his economics undergraduate degree at the College of Wooster, and his MBA in Security Analysis at New York University.
At the time, New York University was the only university in the country that offered a graduate degree in security analysis.
After obtaining his MBA and completing an Army tour as an artillery first lieutenant, he began his career on Wall Street as a security analyst.
He was ranked as an institutional all-star analyst in the area of transportation and was appointed by President Carter to serve as a Commissioner for the Interstate Commerce Commission in 1979.
Over the years, Mr. Trantum served as Partner and Security Analyst at H.C.
Wainwright & Co., Partner and Investment Banker with L.F.
Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin and President and CEO of a 700-mile regional railroad.
In 1987, Frank Mastrapasqua recruited him to become Partner and Senior Security Analyst with J.C.
Bradford and Co. in Nashville.
He later joined Mr. Mastrapauqua in 1993 as co-founder of Mastrapasqua Asset Management.
He is a skilled equity analyst bringing years of diversified experience to the firm.
His first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of a company allows him to approach stock selections, research and portfolio management with an insightful perspective.
